The house is located on the lakeside west end of the pedestrian area 'Maximilianstraße' through the old town - you live on the edge and yet right in the middle.
Within walking distance you can reach the famous historic harbor (excursion steamer to all A-, CH- and D-Bodensee-harbors as well as the flower island Mainau) with promenade and street cafes, the Art Nouveau train station, the idyllic island-round trail, the central Diagonal pedestrian area 'Maximilianstr.' with the representative town hall, the carillon next door (11:45), the city museum, the two main churches, many restaurants and shopping "the whole program".
Lindau had the rare luck of being spared the war, and thus has a closed historical cityscape.
