The Steinhuder Meer is a lake in Lower Saxony, Germany located 30 kilometres (19 mi) northwest of Hanover. With an area of about 30 square kilometres (12 sq mi), it the largest lake of northwestern Germany and is the heart of the Steinhuder Meer Nature Park. A bike path and hiking trail, with observation decks, (ca. 22mi/35km) encircles the lake, allowing veiws across the water and the surrounding moors . The island Wilhelmstein with fortress, can be reached by boat. A beach can be found at the "Badeinsel", the swimming island, and on the southern shores of the lake.
Getting there
Per car: via Autobahn A2, exit Wunstorf-Luthe, then take the B441 through Wunstorf to Hagenburg, where you turn right into Altenhäger St. to Steinhude.
Per public transport: with the train to Wunstorf, then bus 711 to Steinhude busstop "Am Friedenseiche". The apartment is just a 5 minute walk.

Bereits zum wiederholten Male haben wir uns eine Auszeit in dieser wunderbaren Wohnung in Steinhude gegönnt! Wir kommen immer wieder gerne in diese Wohnung, die in Steinhude ihresgleichen sucht. Selbstverständlich ist sie immer super sauber und hält alles bereit, was wir brauchen, inklusive einer bestens ausgestatteten Küche, die wir als Selbstversorger schätzen.
Aber das Beste an dieser Wohnung ist die geniale Aussicht auf das Meer. Wenn man sich auf das Sofa oder in den Sessel sinken lässt, hat man den Eindruck man wäre allein dort. So lässt sich herrlich das Treiben auf dem Wasser beobachten und nicht zu vergessen die wunderschönen Sonnenuntergänge.

Wir hatten einen Traumurlaub.Direkt verliebt in Wohnung und Umgebung.Traumhafte Lage , riesiger Balkon mit Blick auf das Steinhuder Meer. Wohnung liebevoll eingerichtet,sauber und hell.Man schließt die Tür auf und denkt, angekommen.Geschlafen haben wir wie die Murmeltiere in bunter wunderschöne Bettwäsche.Das Bad sauber,mit reichlich schönen Handtüchern ausgestattet, Waschmaschine, Trockner.Wohnzimmer gemütliche Couch mit rund um Blick aufs Wasser.Ein Sessel mit Hocker stehen am Fenster bereit, mein Lieblingsplatz um den Wassersport auf dem Steinhuder Meer zu beobachten.Fernseher, Fernglas.Die Küche komplett eingerichtet mit Spülmaschine, Kühlschrank, Herd mit Backofen, Kaffeemaschine, Mikrowelle,Geschirr,Besteck, Gläser, Töpfe, Pfannen.Der riesige Balkon Tisch, Stühle und Sonnenschirm.Rund herum Klasse.
