With the reservation we ask for a deposit of 50% of the total price within 7 days to our Portuguese bank account. We will confirm the receipt of payment by booking confirmation immediately, which makes the booking binding. Please transfer the remaining amount 2 weeks before arrival.
NOTE: If the advance payment is not received on time, the booking will be considered cancelled.

Holiday destination
Besides tourism, Estreito da Calheta is located on the sunny side of the island, which can be visited all year round. We have no direct neighbours. Only a few hundred meters behind our house the mountain world begins with its unique bay laurel forests, which were declared World Natural Heritage by UNESCO and can be reached in about 15 minutes by car. Our nearest levada (Levada Nova) can be climbed in about 20 minutes on foot.
For small purchases (or fresh bread rolls) there is a minimarket 10 minutes walk from our house.
At the sea, at the Calhetastrand (about 5 minutes by car), there is an artificial yellow sandy beach, which is calmed by breakwaters. You can swim well here even if the sea has high waves. There is also a large supermarket (gluten-free and vegan products in stock) with a large daily fresh fish stand.
Estrela Calheta (about 2 km away): There you will find small shops, bakeries, an inexpensive cobbler, pharmacies and a medical centre, as well as a German physiotherapist. You will also find a modern art museum on the cliffs "Casa das Mudas", with rotating exhibitions.
Getting there
The distance from the airport to Casa Biologica is about 45 km. We will send you a separate directions when you complete your booking. The journey time is about one hour. The highway-like road is well marked and with our directions it is easy to find us

Host informationOur Madeira "adventure" began in 1994 with a one-week short holiday in Madeira. When we arrived there, we felt only a short time later that our health situation had changed dramatically for the better. We decided to buy an older, empty house that same week and rebuilt it according to our ideas using ecological building methods as far as possible.
Later we decided to rent it out to nice holiday guests.

Wir hatten die große Ferienwohnung gebucht und waren absolut begeistert! Die Wohnung war super sauber, hell und schön eingerichtet. In der Wohnung hat es uns wirklich an nichts gefehlt. In den Betten haben wir sehr gut geschlafen. Sehr praktisch ist zudem, dass direkt an der Straße ein Parkplatz für den Mietwagen zur Verfügung steht. Das absolute Highlight war für uns der grandiose Ausblick auf den Atlantik. Wir haben diesen Panorama-Blick jeden einzelnen Tag in vollen Zügen genossen! Zudem ist die Lage ideal für Ausflüge.
Ein riesiges Dankeschön geht an Frau Janus. Sie hat uns sehr herzlich aufgenommen und uns mit wertvollen Tipps für Ausflüge und Restaurantbesuche versorgt, die unseren Urlaub bereichert haben.
Wir hatten eine unvergessliche Zeit und können diese Unterkunft jedem wärmstens empfehlen!
