The nearest village is two kilometers away. Nearby are numerous sights, old castles and historic little towns. The house is the ideal starting point for exploring the area by car, on foot or by bicycle.
A well-developed bike path leads around the lake.
Getting there
Directions - from Berlin -
- Motorway direction Rostock
- take the exit Linstow (the exit after Malchow);
- turn left towards Malchin (don't drive through Linstow);
- turn left at the next intersection, continue towards Malchin (via Vollrathsruhe);
- at the intersection Teterow-Waren: continue towards Waren (turn right), make an immediate left
towards Malchin (via Dahmen, Rothenmoor, Seedorf);
- in Malchin: drive towards Neubrandenburg
- at the Malchin exit: turn left towards Kummerow
- drive through Kummerow in the direction of Grammentin
- don't drive all the way to Grammentin - when the main street makes a sharp
turn to the right (right angle), drive straight ahead into the side street (towards Sommersdorf).
- in Sommersdorf turn left at the intersection into the town - continue following the main road
- to the end of town, then continue towards Meesiger
- after the Sommersdorf exit sign, about 100 m later, a sandy path turns left
