Holiday destination
The area, located at the most northern tip and in direct proximity to the Kugelbake, a historical navigation and landmark, is a particularly charming area of Cuxhaven. There are long sandy beaches, there to invite you to go for a swim. Alternatively, you could also choose the heated sea-water outdoor pool Steinmarne. The spa rooms, spa garden and the big event hall are within short walking distance.
The mudflats and wadden sea are especially enjoyable in Cuxhaven Duhnen as the sand is pleasantly firm and expansive. You could spend hours walking here. Additionally there are beautiful hiking trails through the Geest and Marsh and the Duhner Heide, a natural reserve.

Die Unterkunft ist super ausgestattet- wir waren in Haus 4 Wohnung Nummer 19 untergebracht. Die Wohnung hatte ein Schlafzimmer mit 3 Betten und eine riesige ausziehbare Couch im Wohnzimmer. Der Ausblick auf die beiden Campingplätze ist nicht der schönste aber man ist innerhalb von 5 Minuten zu Fuß am Strand und innerhalb von 10-15 Minuten im Zentrum Duhnens.
Wir hatten unseren Hund mit dabei, was auch bestens geklappt hat. Der näheste Hundestrand befindet sich leider nicht in duhnen, also sind wir mir dem auto nach sahlenburg gefahren.
Das Schwimmbecken war zwischendrin mal etwas voll aber an 3 Tagen waren wir ganz alleine drin, was natürlich super war. Es gibt auch einen Spielplatz in der Anlage.
