Other recreational opportunities
You spend your holiday near the "Frisian Wehde", a hiking area that has been mostly left to nature. Go on excursions to Bremerhaven or the city of Jever to the famous brewery museum. The Varel harbour is popular with its maritime mile and the "Bahlsen" factory outlet.
Holiday destination
The former artist's village of Dangast is very popular. It is the oldest North Sea resort, and is easy to reach as the most southerly point in Frisia. Fresh, mild, bracing climate all year round. You absolutely must visit the "alte Kurhaus" and try the legendary rhubarb cake with a view of Jade Bay. The past as an artist's village comes back to life here. Along the dike you can cycle to the Varel harbour or to Wilhelmshaven.
Getting there
From the exit Varel/Bockhorn, follow the signs to Dangast. Turn left into the Sielstrasse at the first set of traffic lights. Next right into the Danksteder Straße. Right into Hollwert and then turn left again. Straight into the Humenser Strasse and then take the first left to Haus Friesenblau. Humenser Str. 5.

Alles so vorgefunden wie die letzten Jahre. Die neuen Dachfenster haben mir sehr gut gefallen. Einziges Manko war, dass Ameisen über den Balkon in die Wohnung gekommen sind.

Wir haben die Wohnung im letzten Jahr bereits zum zweiten Mal gemietet. Für zwei Personen ideal,
zusätzlich überdachter Balkon evtl. zum grillen sowie ein kleiner Abstellraum für Koffer etc. Für uns war auch ganz wichtig die dazugehörige Garage, in der wir unsere E-Bikes einstellten und dort auch aufladen konnten. Für uns gibt es nur zwei Kritikpunkte: Beide Matratzen sind völlig weich und durchgelegen, müssten dringend ausgetauscht werden. Ebenso einige Dichtungen an der Dusche, die auch beim zweiten Mal noch nicht ausgetauscht waren. Wir würden gerne wieder kommen, aber erst nach Beseitigung der Mängel. Ansonsten alles prima, vor allen Dingen die hervorragende zentrale Lage in Dangast mit immer kurzen Wegen in alle Richtungen !
