A popular activity is hiking or cycling along the coast. There are countless well-marked hiking and cycling trails along the Baltic Sea coast, offering breathtaking views of the sea.
The town of Kühlungsborn offers a wide range of family-friendly activities. Whether it's mini golf, a climbing forest or water sports, there's something for every age.
In the surrounding area there is the Wonnemar water park, a zoo, summer toboggan run and various indoor playgrounds.
There are several charming towns near Wischuer that are worth visiting and offer a variety of attractions and activities.
One of the most famous cities in the area is Rostock. The Hanseatic city of Rostock is only about 30 kilometres from Wischuer and is one of the largest cities in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Here you can explore the historic city centre, which is characterised by impressive brick buildings. Rostock's city harbour with its historic sailing ships and cosy restaurants is definitely a must-see. The Marienkirche and town hall are also popular attractions.
Another interesting city near Wischuer is Wismar. The Hanseatic city of Wismar is about 40 kilometres away and impresses with its well-preserved old town, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here you can stroll through the narrow streets, admire historic buildings and enjoy the maritime flair of the harbour. Particularly worth seeing: Wismar town hall, St. Nicholas church and the waterworks.
The town of Bad Doberan is also worth a visit. It's only about 20 kilometres from Wischuer and is especially renowned for its impressive Doberan Minster. The cathedral is one of the most important Gothic brick buildings in Northern Germany and impresses with its magnificent architecture. In Bad Doberan you can also take a ride on the historic “Molli” steam train, which runs from Bad Doberan to Kühlungsborn.
Holiday destination
One of the most famous beaches in the area is Rerik Beach. The beach at Rerik is very popular with families because it slopes gently into the water and is therefore also suitable for children.
Another beautiful beach near Wischuer is Kühlungsborn Beach. This is one of the longest beaches on the German Baltic coast and offers ideal conditions for a relaxing day by the sea.
Getting there
Take the B 105 between Wismar and Rostock, then drive towards Rerik Kühlungsborn and then turn off towards Wischuer.
The house is located in the "Am Stangenberg" holiday home area.
