Casa Castagna is peacefully situated in the small village of Kostanjica (Castagna), above the Mirna River, yet is only a short drive from the beach and tourist hotspots. This part of Istria is among the most popular and is the stronghold of truffles, home to some of the best winemakers and olive oil producers in Croatia, and has developed into a gourmet destination over recent years.
It's ideal for nature lovers, individualists, and active holidaymakers (mountain biking/road cycling, hiking). The village of Kostanjica is also located directly on the famous Parenzana cycling trail.
The (few) neighbors are warm-hearted and - due to historical reasons - all speak Italian.
Getting there
Arriving by car from Slovenia via the federal road 21, or the E751 and then federal road 301.
Airports: Pula, Trieste or Rijeka, then continue with a rental car.
