Holiday destination
Westerbur is a small, idyllic coastal village on the East Frisian North Sea coast. It lies on the famous Störtebekerstraße (Störtebeker Road) between Dornumersiel and Bensersiel .
The Westerbur local history society offers guests plenty of fun and entertainment during the summer months with barbecues and a traditional East Frisian game called "Boßeln" (a type of bowling). This is a great opportunity to try out this East Frisian sport.
Westerbur has a small shop where you can buy fresh bread rolls, many homemade treats, and seasonal farm products.
There's a playground and sports field with a skate park for children.
The beach at Dornumersiel is about 3 km away, and the North Sea resort of Bensersiel is about 5 km away. Both towns have small harbors and offer beautiful beaches with large playgrounds and kite-flying areas.
The heated seawater outdoor pool in Dornumersiel and the seawater wave pool in Bensersiel can be used free of charge with a North Sea Service Card.
There are very good cycling and hiking trails available, so you can easily explore the entire area with the bicycles we provide free of charge.
