It really depends on what you are looking for when going to Maui. We picked this place for it's proximity to the ocean, affordability, and quiet place to sleep. We always rent a car and explore so we don't spend a lot of time wherever we are sleeping. The beach is fantastic, there is decent surfing and a place to rent boards very close to the resort. There are lots of turtles and monk seals on the beach. Snorkeling is pretty good too with a really shallow coral reef right out front. There is construction noise due to the fires of 2023, but it is only during the weekdays and it really isn't a big deal. My only complaint about the resort is the parking. The parking spots are miniature and a lot of people really don't know how to stay inside the lines. If you come back after dark, then good luck getting a spot. You have to pay $15/day and you aren't even guaranteed a spot. The rooms and resort are very clean. We are on the mountain side and the view of the mountains is lovely. I would have preferred the ocean view, but it doesn't really matter since we just sit by the ocean on the beach. Overall, it is a great place.
