Sustainable Holidays in the Hohe Tauern National Park
It is on everyone's lips. The green footprint, CO² neutral travel, flight shame, sustainability, and much more. Almost everyone feels the need to save the world and wants to do their part.
Today, you also have the opportunity to pay attention to your environment during your vacation.
How does that work? Well:
You are in an old mill from 1776. This rustic mill has been completely renovated from 2017 to 2019. The old, historically significant masonry has been preserved, and some old wooden beams could be refurbished and reused. Millstones from that time now support new tabletops. The mill is still operational today, but in a completely new form. Electricity is now produced here. The concept ensures the self-sufficient existence of the owners, who place great value on "green" electricity from hydropower. The steady humming behind the generator room is the acoustic proof of this.
It’s the details that make the "new" mill special.
Creaking wooden doors
An impressive tiled stove, a masterpiece from the master tiler
Large, bright, and spacious rooms with a lot of high-quality carpentry
Charming lounge area for relaxing
Comfortable sleeping space for kids on a viewing platform
The furnishings are high-quality, comfortable, and leave nothing to be desired.
Washing machine and dryer – athletes and mountain lovers will be delighted!
A dream for kitchen fairies – you can cook here, but you don’t have to. The charming village center of Bramberg is only 500 m away.
Your summer in Hohe Tauern National Park
Between the Kitzbühel Alps and the Hohe Tauern National Park, there is truly action. Varied hiking and mountain biking tours are the classics. Especially the kids' eyes light up when the new panorama or slide paths are mentioned. The adventure arena Kogel-Mogel and the unique mountain cart track ensure winner poses... even for the grown-ups.
Ski Fun and Winter Magic in the Wildkogel Arena
When you get out of the gondola at 2,100 m above sea level and let the panorama take effect on you, you will be rewarded with a breathtaking view of the many 3,000-meter peaks of the Hohe Tauern. In the midst of the Kitzbühel Alps, the best conditions for an unforgettable winter holiday in the mountains prevail. The ski area at Wildkogel has received multiple awards and is optimal for families, beginners, and returning skiers. Other well-known ski areas such as the Zillertal Arena and the Kitzbühel Alps ski area offer around 300 kilometers of slopes.
By the way: To practice, you should head to the in-house glacier. The "Wennsergletscher" with a small ski lift is only 100 m from your mill. A popular cross-country skiing trail also leads past the "glacier."
Tip: Here is a small experience list to plan for your vacation time:
Directly in the village of Bramberg ends the longest illuminated toboggan run in the world with a length of 14 km.
Must-see: The Krimml Waterfalls – spectacular even in winter
The Grossglockner High Alpine Road – the road to Austria's landmark
National Park Worlds Mittersill – top tip for bad weather
