Holiday destination

Some of Crete's most beautiful beaches are located in Kamilari's surrounding area. Those who want to experience more than a beach holiday can go hiking in one of the magnificent gorges nearby. Culture enthusiasts will be busy exploring archaeological sites dating back thousands of years to the Minoan period. No matter what your leisure programme looks like, Kamilari and neighbouring villages have lots of good taverns, where you can indulge in the local cuisine and enjoy Cretan hospitality.

Getting there

Coming from Heraklion (als known as Iraklio), take the national road towards Rethymno. After about 6 km, take the turn off towards Moires. Follow the road for approx. 60 km, through the villages Agia Barbara, Agioi Deka and Moires; continue towards Tympaki. Approx. 10 km after passing Moires you'll see a Nissan car dealership on your right. Make a left turn towards Kamilari and follow the road for 5 km until you reach the intersection Kamilari/Kalamaki. Take the left turn off to Kamilari. After about 300 metres you'll see the "Taverna Kelari" on your left. Directly across the street is a steep driveway that leads to the Villa Verikoko. The holiday home is the third house on the left.

Host informationI live in Munich together with my Greek husband and our son. My husband's native island of Crete is our second home. We have been going on holiday there for many years, so I know Crete like the back of my hand. I love the hospitality and relaxed atmosphere of this island. And I want to pass it on to my guests while they spend their holiday in our new house. I have a penchant for furniture and beautiful accessories. Decorating rooms is definitely one of my favourite hobbies. So I've put my heart and soul into furnishing and decorating our house in Crete.

Kennen Sie das? Auf der Fahrt zum gemieteten Urlaubsdomizil fragen Sie sich, wird es so sein, wie auf den Fotos? Welche nicht vorgesehene Überraschung wartet auf uns? Also wir sind immer etwas aufgeregt. In diesem Fall völlig unnötig: wir öffnen die Tür und fühlen uns sofort Zuhause, alles ist so, wie auf den Fotos und besser. Im Gegensatz zu früheren Urlauben haben wir uns kein bisschen nach unserem eigenen Zuhause gesehnt. Der Abschied fällt uns schwer. Wir haben wundervoll geschlafen, in der gut ausgestatteten Küche ab und an gekocht und das Frühstück auf der Terrasse mit dem wundervollen Garten und Ausblick auf die Berge sehr genossen. In Laufnähe diverse gute Tavernen, der Strand in Kalamaki ist nicht weit. Schöne Ausflüge - die Tipps unserer Vermieter sind Gold wert. Danke für eine wundervolle Zeit.

Dieses Ferienhaus ist eigentlich noch besser als das Zuhause: Es liegt auf Kreta und hat deshalb auch im Oktober noch 26 Grad und permanente Sonne. Das haben wir in Detmold nicht :-) Die Ausstattung ist hochwertig, geschmackvoll und einfach schick. Die Betten bequem, das Sofa gemütlich. Dazu etwas griechische Musik aus der Box... einfach gutes Urlaubsfeeling. Die Schiebetüren mit Fliegengittern sind genial. Man kann bei frischer Luft ungestraft drinnen Licht anmachen bzw. bei offener Tür schlafen und die kleinen stechenden Plagegeister bleiben draußen. Es ist einfach alles wunderschön und der Kontakt zu Barbara schnell und sehr freundlich. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Selten haben wir ein Haus gefunden, das diesen großen Komfort bietet. Herzlichen Dank für eine wunderschöne Zeit!
