Holiday destination
The officially recognised resort Nothweiler has 170 inhabitants, it is located immediate at the border to the Alsace. The landscape is part of the natural preserve Palatinate Forest.
The village is - one of the most beautiful and most hidden in the Palatinate - in a steeped in legend rocky land of the Wasgau. Many old half-timbered houses which are under monumental protection, give the village a touch of romance. The mild climate (300-500 metre high) gurantees relaxation until well into autumn, when the mixed forests unfold all their colourfulness.
There is no transit.
You can undertake directly from the house to numerous hikings through the Palatinate Forest or the Vosges.
Getting there
Because of the outland the arrival by bus or train is inconvenient.
At best reachable by car:
From the south via Karlsruhe; from the north or east via Mannheim, Ludwigshafen, Landau.

Wir hatten ein paar sehr erholsame Tage im wunderschönen Gockelhaus. Das Haus ist ruhig gelegen, bestens ausgestattet und sehr sauber.

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen, sehr friedlichen Urlaub, das Haus ist komplett ausgestattet und sehr gemütlich, der Garten schön angelegt und auf der Terasse kann man sehr gut sitzen nach dem wandern. Für Wanderungen ist die Gegend einfach wunderbar, man weiß gar nicht, wo man anfangen soll. Alles in allem sehr zu empfehlen.
