Golf: Within 10 minutes of the Quinta there are many new and prestigious golf courses of the Eastern Algarve ¬– Quinta da Ria, Monte Rei (Jack Nicklaus), Quinta do Vale (Seve Ballesteros). A little bit further away, you will find the established courses of the central Algarve (Quinta do Lago, Vale do Lobo).
Holiday destination
The Quinta is located on the border of “Ria Formosa” natural reserve between Santa Luzia and Tavira in the Western Algarve (and well away from the crowds). The local railway line passes close to the house. In the area, you should visit Tavira, reputed to be the nicest town in the Algarve, and will also be charmed by the nearby fishing village of Santa Luiza with its many restaurants. The magnificent beaches of the Ile de Tavira, described by Lonely Planet’s “Travel with Children” Guide to be one of the world’s top ten beaches for families with children, are only 2km away, and are easily accessible by car, bike or by the small local railway that serves them. Other leisure opportunities nearby include golf (5km) and horse riding, and the area is an ornithological paradise. The Spanish border is 30km away and it is easy to drive to Seville in 90 minutes. The Western Algarve (Sagres and Cabo São Vincente) is also easily reached by car in 90 minutes.
Getting there
Faro airport is 30 km, Sevilla Airport about 150 km and Lisbon Airport about 280 km from the Quinta (we can organize transport for up to 4 persons from Faro or Sevilla Airports).
A taxi will take you to the Quinta in 4 minutes time from the train station or the bus terminal in Tavira.
The Quinta is 5 km away from the A22 motorway exit "Tavira".

Host informationWe have been spending our holidays in Santa Luzia for over 20 years. We bought the Quinta in 2009, renovated it and transformed it into a little paradise that we are happy to make available to our guests.

Wir haben uns in der Quinta mit paradiesischem Garten sehr wohlgefühlt und konnten herrlich entspannen. Auch das Haus selbst bietet alle Dinge, die man im Urlaub benötigt. Besonders gefreut haben wir uns über die Orangenpresse, mit der wir morgens die Orangen aus dem Garten frischgepresst zum Frühstück genießen konnten. Die Lage der Quinta ist perfekt: sowohl Tavira als auch die umliegenden Strände und Sehenswürdigkeiten sind schnell zu erreichen. Die Kommunikation mit dem Gastgeber war außerordentlich freundlich. Für uns eine perfekte Woche!

Wir sind schon in vielen schönen Ferienhäusern gewesen, aber Quinta dos Trigos ist wirklich mit Abstand das schönste; eine perfekte Mischung aus gemütlich und praktisch und wunderschön eingerichtet. Es hat wirklich alles, was man braucht und noch so einiges dazu, von dem man gar nicht wusste, dass man es braucht, bequeme Betten, viel Platz, Kamin, Brettspiele, Bücher, einen Pool vorm Fenster. Das wirklich Außergewöhnliche aber ist das Grundstück, ein wahrer Paradiesgarten mit eigenem Orangenhain, der einen das Frühstück vom Baum pflücken lässt, eine riesige Palme überblickt das Naturschwimmbad inmitten von Blumen und Obstbäumen, es gibt 6 großzügige Sitzecken (eine davon auf dem Dach, man kann sogar das Meer sehen), dazu Hängematten, Trampolin, Tischtennisplatte, Kicker, Grill, Fahrräder. Wir kommen wieder!
