Kamilari, with its 450 inhabitants, built on three hills, offers traditional Cretan village life, far from the hustle and tourist bustle of the North Coast.
At the edge of the village, 10 minutes on foot from the village square, you'll find the "Thalassa" holiday home with a spectacular panoramic view of the highest mountain on Crete (Psiloritis 2456 m), the fertile Messara plain and the Lybian Sea.
Getting there
From Heraklion airport
By rental car (drive about 75 minutes - we'll happily organize a reliable, German speaking partner on site at good prices) right from the airport on the motorway towards Rethymnon. After about 6 km, exit toward Mires via Agia Varvara. From the main road in Mires, shortly after the Max Supermarket, take a left t towards Kamilari/Matala.
At the Sivas/Kamilari, turn right. From here it is about 1.5 km to Kamilari.
100m after the town entrance sign, left towards Kalamaki. After 400m you'll see the tavern and shop "Kelari/Aroma Kelari" on the right.
After another 100m right behind the large olive tree turn 180 degrees and then immediate left. After 200 m, you'll see the houses above you on the right.
Follow the road another 300m. After the steep climb, turn right and drive to the end of the road (100m).

Das Haus war genau wie im Inserat beschrieben - liebevoll ausgestattet und lässt wirklich keine Wünsche offen. Alles war sehr sauber und in einem gepflegten Zustand. Der Außenbereich ist schön gestaltet, mit einem gepflegten Pool, einer windgeschützten Terrasse und einer wunderbaren Aussicht.
Der Vermieter war sehr freundlich und jederzeit gut erreichbar. Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt und können das Haus uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen!

Wir waren 14 Tage in diesem modernen und geschmackvollen Ferienhaus. Alles top ausgestattet und mit Liebe gestaltet . Man merkt, dass die Inhaber hier viel Herzblut hineingesteckt haben. Der wunderschoene Garten mit Pool, der 2x die Woche gereinigt wurde ist wirklich sensationell. Die Lage steil am Hang, die Anfahrt über Kretas Buckelpisten ist ein kleines Abenteuer, ist mit nichts zu bezahlen, selten so einen grandiosen Ausblick gehabt, Sonnenuntergang im Meer inklusive! Abwicklung , Zahlung und Kommunikation vorbildlich, inclusive erstklassiger Insidertips. Alles in allem eine absolute Empfehlung.
