Other recreational opportunities

You can drive to the green and rough North Side of Madeira when you quickly drive from Prazeres over the mountain to Porto Moniz where you can find the perfect open sea water pools. A quick jump to Seixal is great. You will find a waterfall on the Lava sand beach and green landscapes that will remind you to be in Hawaii. Body Bord Surfing in perfect in Seixal and Porta da Cruz.

Holiday destination

Around Estreito da Calheta you can find many nice small villages. In 5 minutes drive you find Prazeres with a small animal park and good Levada Walks, Jardim to Mar located near the sea with lovely views or the beach and Arco da Calheta. You may also visit the lighthouse in Ponta do Pargo. On the way you cross the nicest flowers all around the streets. Each village has its own specialty. In our villa we have many Madeira Travel Books for you and enjoy to give you our ideas.

Getting there

The Villa 17° West is located in the sunny Western part in Estreito da Calheta, around 45 km from Funchal airport. We will send all guests after the booking a complete photodocumention to find us quickly. You call our nice housekeeper when you start on Funchal airport with your rental car. The house keeper will wait for you in the house and will explain all details. You can contact him during your stay if you should have questions.

Tolle Villa, traumhafte Lage. Von der Terrasse mit schönem großzügigem Pool hatte man einen sehr schönen Blick auf Meer. Das Haus liegt ca 300 m überm Meeresspiegel und ist nur mit dem Auto erreichbar, die Anfahrt ist von Funchal etwas entfernt. Alles im Haus stimmte, sehr sauber, großzügige, vollständige Ausstattung, bis hin zu vielen Kleinigkeiten, die ein Haus lebenswert machen. Hilfe vor Ort war sehr umfassend, wenn nötig auch sehr schnell.
