Cancellation policy
In the event of a cancellation, the landlord will claim compensation based on the following flat rates:
- from the conclusion of the rental agreement up to 90 days before the start of the trip: 15%,
- from the 89th to the 60th day before the start of the trip 50%,
- from the 59th to the 30th day before the start of the trip 75%,
- from the 29th to the 1st day before the start of the trip 90%,
- on the day of the trip's commencement or in case of no-show 100%
of the agreed rental price. (Reference RECRON Conditions NL 2016)
If the landlord can rent the holiday home for the whole or part of the cancelled period, the tenant will only bear the proportional rental price for the days not rented.
In Den Osse and the surrounding area, there are plenty of leisure activities for both young and old:
Here you'll find tennis courts, a heated swimming pool, mini-golf, indoor play facilities, and more. Sailing, surfing, and fishing are possible in many places. On the road to Scharendijke, about a 2-minute walk from our house, you can find one of the most famous diving stations of the Grevelingenmeer.
Scharendijke (3km), at the base of the Brouwersdam, has an excellent supermarket; to the north on the dam, there is one of the famous Center Parcs with the entertainment options these parks are known for, including a swimming paradise with a slide. Renesse (7km), on the North Sea, offers great entertainment and shopping opportunities (shopping). There is also the option to take a horse-drawn carriage to the beach from the transferium.
Zierikzee (14km) and Middelburg (40km; on the southern peninsula Walcheren) are picturesque towns (drawbridges, harbors, marketplaces, etc.) that are a must-see. On the way to Middelburg (possibly visiting Veere: a beautiful little place on the Veerse Meer), you drive over the closure dike with the impressive flood gates at Neeltje Jans. It's worth visiting the associated exhibition area. There, you can also learn about the construction of this massive structure. Neeltje Jans - one of the major projects of the coastal protection project Delta Works - shows how the Dutch have learned to reclaim land; Neeltje Jans is something for children and adults alike.
The markets of the cities of Zierikzee, Vlissingen, or Domburg (both on Walcheren) are definitely worth a trip as well.
Holiday destination
A large playground with facilities for soccer, basketball, and volleyball is located in the immediate vicinity of the house. Additionally, there is a small bay with a sandy beach, numerous excellent restaurants, a supermarket, and a Landal park with a free indoor playground nearby.
The marina in Den Osse and its surroundings are perfect for extended walks. The North Sea can be reached after about 3km of driving near Scharendijke. The sandy beach stretches approximately 35 km from 'right to left'. Various beach cafes offer a place to relax. Windsurfing is possible on both sides of the dam road to the north, including on the Kabbelaarsbank on the east side of the dam, which is on the Grevelingenmeer. There is a windsurfing school here, and surfboards are available for rent. The North Sea side is very suitable for kite surfing.
The Grevelingenmeer is the largest saltwater lake in Europe. You can take boat tours through the newly formed island-like nature reserves, or you can fish from the boat for a fee. In Renesse (7km away), there is the large equestrian center Manege Grol; beach rides can be booked at any time. For cyclists, there are many well-maintained bike paths.
Getting there
On the usual route to us from Zierikzee, you will pass by Brouwershaven, an extremely idyllic little town, and after about 2km you will reach the place Den Osse. Here, our house number 91 is located in the inner park Den Osse.
