Holiday destination
Breskens, a port town in the province of Zeeland, is located at the mouth of the Western Scheldt. It boasts both a fishing harbor and a marina with around 650 berths and an open connection to the sea. The town, with nearly 5,000 inhabitants, lies directly behind the dunes and invites visitors to enjoy a holiday with many hours of sunshine and dreamy sunrises and sunsets throughout the year.
Breskens has a long and very wide sandy beach with great beach pavilions that are perfect for relaxing and enjoying delicious food. The black-and-white striped lighthouse on the beach is a popular photo opportunity and can be visited on weekends. A walk along the long panoramic path offers a fantastic view of the North Sea. Also, visit the neighboring seaside resort of Cadzand, where fossilized shark teeth can be found on the long sandy beach of Cadzand Bad. Bike tours with destinations such as Knokke, Sluis, Bruges, Vlissingen, Middelburg (some accessible by ferry) are a wonderful experience. Interesting cities like Antwerp, Bruges, Ghent, Sluis, Knokke, and Brussels are always worth a trip.
In the immediate vicinity is the recreational area "Waterdunen". It offers nature lovers interesting discoveries with its many hiking trails and its variety of plants and bird species. In Breskens, 2 km away, there is the possibility for shopping (bakeries, butchers, groceries, drugstores, clothing, bike shop, etc.) and visiting numerous high-quality restaurants and cafes. The annual fishing festival in August at the marina attracts thousands of tourists and residents of Zeeland to the port town.

Wir haben 10 Tage in dem wunderschönen Ferienhaus Strandperle verbracht. Die Vermieter, die wir persönlich kennengelernt haben sowie der Vermietungsservice waren ausgesprochen freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Haus hat eine sehr gute Ausstattung, es hat an nichts gefehlt. Auch die Küchenausstattung war hervorragend und die Terrassenmöbel waren perfekt. Wegen der im Wohnraum vorhandenen Klimaanlage war der Aufenthalt im Haus auch bei warmen Temperaturen sehr angenehm. Wir können dieses Ferienhaus uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen und kommen gerne hierhin zurück, wenn es uns wieder in die Gegend zieht.
