Cross-country skiing: the runs of Saariselkä are known as the best ones throughout Finland. Alpine slopes, 1,000 km for snow mobiles, reindeer and husky safari, ice and snow carting, snow shoeing and spa. You will find the northernmost spa in the world here. Canoeing and boat trips, mountain biking, gold panning or enjoying nature's beauty.

Holiday destination

You will find everything you need in Saariselkä. Various restaurants, small shops and a large department store provide everything you need or even more. The cross-country ski runs in Saariselkä are particularly popular. There are in total 250 km runs of whom 35 km are illuminated. Summer and autumn are perfect for extended hikes in the wonderful nature. There is a choice of marked hiking trails that also offer some possibilities to rest and have a break. Several nature reserves, the wild nature, the beautiful lake Inari as well as the river Ivalojoki will be a real pleasure.

Getting there

There are several daily flights with Finnair from Helsinki to Ivalo during winter and almost daily during the rest of the year. There is a bus connection to the airport to and from Saariselkä for each flight. You can also take a taxi from the airport to your requested destination. There is a train to Rovaniemi from where you can take one of the numerous buses to Saariselkä or to other destinations in Lapland. Thanks to the well-organised public transport system it is even possible to go directly to the Arctic Ocean.

Eine voll ausgestattete Luxusvilla, eingerichtet mit finnischen Designprodukten. Die FrÃ¼hstÃ¼cke waren reichhaltig, vielfÃ¤ltig und schmackhaft. Das als zusÃ¤tzlichen Service bestellte Abendessen war wirklich gut. WÃ¤rmste Empfehlung.

Wir hatten Ende Februar, Anfang MÃ¤rz die beste Erfahrung!ï¿½ Als wir ankamen, wurden wir von Kaisu, der Gastgeberin von Skabma, herzlich empfangen. Sie hat ein so warmes Herz und wir fÃ¼hlten uns in SaariselkÃ¤ super willkommenï¿½ï¿½! Im Voraus hatten wir darÃ¼ber nachgedacht, etwas Besonderes fÃ¼r meine Eltern zu organisieren, die seit 30 Jahren verheiratet sind. Kaisu schenkte dieser Feier viel Aufmerksamkeit, indem sie den Tisch mit wunderschÃ¶nen roten Rosen und einer liebevollen Notiz fÃ¼r meine Eltern dekorierte, und Heli backte einen wunderschÃ¶nen und kÃ¶stlichen Kuchen â¤ï¸. Auch Semmi war sehr freundlich, er ist der Ehemann von Kaisu. Semmi nahm uns mit auf einen Spaziergang ins Dorf. Er zeigte uns, wo wir rodeln konnten, wo der Supermarkt ist usw. Dann gingen wir, um Outfits fÃ¼r die AktivitÃ¤ten auszuleihen, und Semmi erzÃ¤hlte uns viel Ã¼ber das Dorf und das Leben in Finnland. Er ist ebenfalls eine ganz besondere Person und hat ein so gutes Herz!ï¿½ Jeden Tag genossen wir ein kÃ¶stliches FrÃ¼hstÃ¼ck, Mittagessen und Abendessen. Sie berÃ¼cksichtigten meine Allergien in allem, was groÃŸartig war! Ich habe viele neue Rezepte gelernt, die ich jetzt auch zu Hause zubereiteï¿½. Heli nahm uns mit auf eine Schneeschuhwanderung, die eine erstaunliche Erfahrung war. Wir haben viel gelernt und gelacht. Sie ist einzigartig!ï¿½ Wir haben mit meiner Familie die unglaublichsten Tage erlebt. GlÃ¼cklicherweise haben wir die Nordlichter von der Lodge aus gesehenï¿½! Als wir abreisten, fÃ¼hlte es sich ein wenig wie eine Trennung an, aber wir werden auf jeden Fall hierher zurÃ¼ckkehrenï¿½ï¿½. Dies ist ein Urlaub, den man fÃ¼r immer in Erinnerung behalten wirdï¿½.
