The unspoilt beach and the pinewoods are only 6 km away, while the bath resort Marina di Grosseto and the pittoresque medieval fisherman's village Castiglione della Pescaia are resp. 7 and 12 km away.
In the range of 15 km, important Etruscan and Roman ruins, like Roselle and Vetulonia are found.
Panoramic medieval villages, like Montepescali, Batignano, Massa Marittima and Sticciano, the unique tufa villages Pitigliano, Sorano and Sovana or the thermal bath spa Saturnia should be visited.
Distance to Siena: 70 km., Florence: 120 km. and Rome: 180 km..The Natural Maremma Park is about 15 km.
Getting there
Coming from the north, South or East, take exit Grosseto Nord. Proceed till a t-split and turn right for Castiglione d. P.
After 3 km, turn left towards Castiglione d. P. At the end turn left at the t-split. After 500 m. turn right: Strada Chiocciolaia. After 2 km left hand: "Il Granaio".
