Other recreational opportunities
One can choose from a myriad of sports activities. Cannero has a lovely beach and this section of the lake is ideal for swimming. Alternatively, you can rent pedal boats, rowing boats and canoes there. In Cannero you'll also find a tennis court, a football pitch and a small harbour for sailing boats. Needless to say, Lake Maggiore's water sports activities are very popular. Aside from swimming, rowing and sailing, it is also known for its great surfing conditions. Above Cannero you'll find numerous paths that invite you to go hiking, jogging or cycling. Although the paths are barely used, they are well-marked and show the elevation gain. In the winter, skiing fans can drive to Pian di Sole, or a little further to the Monte Rosa Massif or to Piancavallo. Those who like paragliding or hang-gliding can do so at the top station near Laverno. The nearest golf course is in Ascona.
Holiday destination
The house is situated in a quiet yet central location. The centre of Cannero Riviera is approx. 2 km away. The lakeside promenade and beach approx. 2.5 km. The nearest shopping facilities are in Trarego, approx. 2 km. The bus stop is only 500m from the house. The house borders on trails used for hiking, jogging and cycling. You may want to take a boat trip from Cannero to Luino or Cannobio.
Getting there
Travelling from Switzerland, take the Gotthard Tunnel and continue towards Lago Maggiore. Taking the route via Locarno, you'll pass Cannobio on your way to Cannero. Continue straight ahead until you reach the first junction in the centre of Cannero. On your left you will see the real estate agency Marlis Zanetti (a blue house). Turn right and drive uphill. Follow the winding and partially narrow road (please drive carefully!). After 7-8 narrow curves you'll see a bus stop on the right hand side. Turn left at the bus stop (make sure to drive around the pothole). Follow the Via Panoramica until you reach no. 18. You can park in front of the large grey garage door.

Host informationWe are a family of five from South Germany and we have always felt attracted by the beauty of Lake Maggiore. In 2018 - after various renovation and reconstruction measures - we were able to realise our very own casa tramonto d'oro. Our goal was to preserve the originality and charm of the house while at the same time adding a modern touch for the purpose of letting the two separate flats and the big garden.

Angekommen und wohlgefühlt.
Alles ist wie beschrieben und fotografiert, man öffnet die Tür und ist Zuhause.
Der Garten bietet überall ein Plätzchen zum verweilen oder für Kinder zum verstecken.
Der Ausblick ist so wunderschön, und den Hausberg haben wir ins Herz geschlossen.
Wir hatten gemischtes Wetter, aber da das Haus alles bietet, war das nicht so tragisch.
Wir haben die Zeit als Familie 6 Personen und ein Baby sehr genossen.
Der Austausch bei Fragen war super und die Informationen und Tipps.

Wir, als Familie mit 3 erwachsenen Kindern, waren in der Ferienwohnung "Sonnenaufgang" und haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Man kommt an und fühlt sich wohl. In der Wohnung fehlt es an nichts - die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet und mit 3 vollwertigen Schlafzimmer ist für alle genug Platz. Im großzügigen Garten mit seinen verschiedenen Ebenen findet man von Sonnenaufgang bis Sonnenuntergang immer ein schönes und sonniges Plätzchen mit einer unbeschreiblichen Aussicht.
Vielen Dank, wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.
