The holiday home is part of the municipality of Poppi, a charming little town in Casentino, a forest-rich region in the heart of Tuscany. Largely unknown and rarely mentioned in the media that promote Tuscan tourism, visitors in Casentino mostly encounter locals, are welcomed, and are not "exploited" just because they are tourists. Those who have been here once often return eagerly. There are many picturesque corners to admire in the small villages, ancient castles, interesting churches, and plenty of untouched nature on beautiful hiking trails and suitable tracks for mountain bikers. The small towns like Poppi, Bibbiena, Pratovecchio, Stia, Rassina are popular destinations especially in the summer months when there are folk festivals to suit every taste, such as wine festivals, mushroom festivals, tortellini festivals, and much more. A visit to the provincial capital Arezzo is definitely worth it, there is a lot to see for art lovers and the large antiques fair on the first weekend of each month is recommended, with hundreds of exhibitors and lively activity throughout the old town. Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Perugia, Cortona are the major tourist attractions that everyone surely wants to see at least once, and they are all within comfortable day trips from Casentino. For shopping, it's a short trip down to the valley, either to Poppi or to Soci, where there are many shops of all kinds, the weekly market is in Poppi on Tuesday mornings and in Soci on Friday mornings. In Bibbiena, there is a large shopping center with a Coop supermarket for every need, as well as Penny and Lidl. Ristorantes, pizzerias, and ice cream parlors are everywhere, those who would like to book will receive detailed information from us.
