The large farmhouse lies nestled in a beautiful old fruit orchard and is almost exclusively furnished with antiques. Musicians are very welcome to stay here (as are all our guests!) - there's a tuned piano waiting for you to play. The large library includes German and English books, an enormous selection of kids' books and comics, and a large range of DVDs.
The historic building consists of three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a library, a living room and a well-equipped kitchen. The old farmhouse was lovingly restored at considerable expense, and a great deal of care was taken to retain the existing features and carry out renovation work that was true to the character of the original building.
The large garden that surrounds the holiday house is home to cherry, apple, pear, plum and peach trees and a magnificent natural swimming pond (10 x 3m swimming area) with sun loungers, a parasol and a pool area. There's also a vegetable and herb garden that you're also welcome to use. What's more, the terrace area also has a great selection of garden furniture so that you can eat outside in the open air.
Historically-listed holiday house with a special atmosphere and flair.

There's something for everyone here! If you'd like to take a trip on a steam boat or relax on the lakeside promenade with a cup of coffee, then Lake Ammer (Ammersee) and Lake Starnberg (Starnbergersee) are perfect for you. If you'd prefer to retreat to the small, peaceful lakes of Wörthsee or Pilsensee, however, you'll find little bathing spots there away from the hustle and bustle of the tourists - they're usually only visited by locals. The large lakes are fantastic places to try out various water sports, including windsurfing and sailing. We'd be happy to help you arrange these activities. You'll also find boat rentals and lake swimming areas at all the lakes, including such attractions as volleyball and football courts, swimming islands, mini golf courses and large kids' playgrounds. There's even a 10-metre-high diving platform in Utting am Ammersee.
Among other things, the Five Lakes Region (Fünf-Seen-Land) is well known for its beautiful moraine-filled landscape dotted with little marsh lakes and ponds that make it perfect for long walks and cycling tours. You'll find beautiful, well-built hiking and cycling paths around the lakes (maps are provided in the holiday house). If you're in the mood for some refreshments, you won't have to look very far at all: there are lots of culinary opportunities to choose from located around the lakes. These include beautiful old beer gardens under gigantic chestnut trees with live music, cosy Bavarian inns, gourmet menus with multiple courses and much, much more besides.
You can also go skating on the smaller lakes in winter, and there are lots of ski areas - such as Garmisch, the Zugspitze, Mittenwald, Lenggries, Spitzing, Brauneck, Achenkirch and Leermoos - that can be reached quickly and easily from the house (some via train).
Zankenhausen is an excellent base for exploring Bavaria's historic towns and palaces. Munich, Augsburg, Landsberg, Garmisch, Altötting and also the famous Royal Palaces of Neuschwanstein and Linderhof can be reached very easily from Munich by train.
Salzburg and Nuremberg are a little further away, but are nevertheless still worth a visit.
The holiday house sits in a small village on a south-facing slope that runs down to Lake Ammer and enjoys wonderful views of the lake and the Alpine mountain range. But you'll also find other lakes - such as the Wörthsee, the Pilsensee and the famous Lake Starnberg (Starnbergersee) - very close by, meaning that there's something for everyone here.
