Holiday destination Aegean Islands, Kea
When on site, the owner will provide all useful information in order to make the guests' stay the most pleasant possible. Alternatively, the owner is reachable on his mobile phone. He is fluent in English, French, Greek and Turkish.
The island is ideal for peace, swimming and trekking lovers.
This hillside property with its panoramic view over the Aegean sea and the hills consists in a main villa ( the owner's summer house ) and a guest house, all nestling in an unspoilt setting.
Kea is connected with Lavrion Harbour ( South-East of Athens) and it is 30 to 45 min. drive from Athens International Airport. If you're coming by car or motorbike from the Airport, take the highway towards Athens and then the exit Markopoulo. Drive straight all the way (highway) down to Lavrio. To avoid Lavrio centre, turn left @ the roundabout before the centre. Exit Port or Limani "Λιμανι". If you're driving from Athens down town take the highway called "Attiki Odos - Αττικη Οδος" towards Athens International Airport E. Venizélos, continue towards Markopoulo et then straight ahead towards Lavrion. The ferry sailing takes around 1 hour. Tickets can be provided before boarding, by travel agents who are very close to the ferry pier. If you're coming by car in high season, it is highly recommended to book your tickets, especially on Friday evenings for the outward journey and Sunday evenings for your return. You can call beforehand the travel agent and he will give you a booking code number. You can then collect your tickets @ the ticket booths @ the harbour. You can either pay in cash or by credit card (not all credit cards). It is highly recommended to rent a car or a motorbike to be more comfortable and free as the bungalow is located 4 km away from Korissia harbour and Ioulida (main town). Alternatively get a taxi from Korissia harbour. It costs between 15 and 20 € to get to Villa Hestia depending on the time.
If you are the driver, here are the instructions to get to Villa Hestia :
Once you left Korissia harbour, turn left towards Vourkari, Otzias. On your right you will notice Porto Kea Suites Hotel and on your left a tiny little white chapel. Turn right towards Fotimari "Φωτημαρι" ( 3 shriveled palm trees). Take the hill and turn right again after the last villa. O Filippas tavern is on your right. Continue straight ahead around 1 km and once you're on top of the hill, turn right and continue always straight ahead, take all the turns, leave a small hamlet called Fotimari and continue until the concrete road becomes a dirt road. Take the dirt road (please drive slowly and carefully) and continue until you're @ a junction with a large waste container. Turn left and take the hill. You will then notice on the left side of the hill, a white-gray long house with a stone fence.
That's it ! Welcome to Villa Hestia ( Greek Goddess of Hospitality ). Your efforts will no doubt be awarded !
If you get a taxi ask him to drive you to Fotimari and then to continue towards Aghios Prokopios. Then follow the aforementioned instructions.
