Lovingly restored over the past four years, La Grande Merise is still a work in progress. It oozes simple rustic charm with cosy warmth and cleanliness. It is perfect for a family of 4 to 5 and will even take up to six. There is a bedroom on both floors. Both have shower rooms en-suite, a large double bedroom downstairs and a bedroom with two single beds upstairs. A steepish staircase leads you upstairs to a cosy living room with sofas, armchairs, Television/DVD, a great room to relax in and a sofa bed for that extra person. Wifi is available. Downstairs there is a farmhouse kitchen fully equipped with a wood burning stove perfect for those chilly evenings.

In tranquil setting amidst green fields but close to the bustling market town of La Haye du Puits and Abbey town of Lessay. Perfect to use as a base, not far from the stunning coastline. Surrounded by a colourful organic garden, idyllic for relaxing.
You can walk from the house on one of the maintained and marked trails or take one of our bicycles and cycle many of the lanes to Gorges which opens out on to marshland, or along one of the many cycling tracks. Buy provisions at our village shop of Vesly only 1.5km away perfect for croissants and bread or enjoy an aperitif at the bar.
La Grande Merise is situated on the Cotentin Peninsula, 45 mins south from Cherbourg. Near the market town of La Haye du Puits and Lessay.For those smaller provisions, just visit Vesly our neighbouring village 1.5km away.
Lessay with its abbey, Reo dairy, classical music festival in July and August. Famous Foire de Sainte Croix on the first weekend in September. Within a short distance are beautiful wide sandy beaches. Follow the coastal road and sample the delicious seafood. Jersey & Guernsey
