Our house is a charming two-storey traditional chalet which offers beautiful views in all directions. All rooms are furnished with original country antiques that make a stay a wonderful experience. It is especially suited for holidays with friends or family, as there is room for up to 12 persons and it is equipped with all utilities for a comfortable and unforgettable holiday.

The chalet is situated at 1300 m in the Defereggen Valley in the National Park ‘Hohe Tauern’ in East Tyrolia, near the Italian border. St. Jakob is East Tyrolia’s best known ski town and can be easily reached on good roads (i.e. in 3 hours from Munich). You find excellent gourmet food in nearby restaurants. The famous ski area of St. Jakob at over 2000 m guarantees snow throughout the season way into April. The slopes allow runs almost up to the house and no car is needed to go skiing. Long, well-groomed cross country tracks are available as well as any kind of winter and summer sports activity. The valley is a beautiful hiking area in summer. Horse-carriage/sled rides are a big attraction.

The National Park Hohe Tauern offers beautiful views, endless hiking and skiing pleasure. You find shops, cafes and restaurants in St. Jakob as well as in Lienz charming inner city (30 min.). In summer enjoy beautiful Lake Tristach near Lienz, surrounded by cool forrest. Or if you prefer, there is an in- and outdoor swimming pool in Lienz as well.

Ski area with efficient gondola can be reached in 5 minutes by free ski bus several times a day. Grandiose sights and lovely slopes for all levels of experience in 2000 m height with the possibility of skiing downhill almost to the house.
