Egmond aan Zee is a nice small village with 6000 habitants.
There is more than 6 miles beach and also dunes on both sites of the National Park ''the Noord-Hollands Dune Reserve''.
The city of Alkmaar lies 6 miles to the east. In Alkmaar you can visit the famous Cheese Market and some interesting museums.
Also Amsterdam, Haarlem and Enkhuizen are not far away.
The cities are about 40 minutes by car or 50 minutes by bike/bus and train.
By a bought pass the visit of museums in Amsterdam, a boattrip through the canals etc. is free.
Also very interesting is a visit to The Zaanse Schans, the Keukenhof, the Steam Tram Museum, the Zuiderzeemuseum, the drive on the Westfriesche Omringdijk and the island of Texel.
