Th Rio Formosa nature reserve is commercially undeveloped and has plentiful bird life. Located 15 minutes from Tavira, a Romanesque town, QdP borders a tidal lagoon with access to 5km of quiet sea beach.

There are golf courses in Cabanas, a 20 minute drive from the villas and tennis at Olhao, 30 minutes to the west.
