An early 19th century cowshed converted to retain many traditional features. Situated on a naturally farmed 45 acre smallholding with donkeys, sheep, ducks, and chickens, in a perfect position overlooking beautiful unspoilt open countryside. Ddol cottage is warm and cosy all year round and is well equipped throughout ensuring you have a pleasant and carefree stay
Accommodation
The kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave, electric oven and hob, fridge, toaster, and a full range of cooking utensils. A washer and tumble drier is available for guests' use and is located adjacent to the cottage.
The cosy lounge is carpeted throughout and is equipped with a three piece suite, plus a dining table and chairs adjacent to the kitchen, and an electric storage heater. There is stone fireplace with electric fire for that added warmth. A Colour television and video has been supplied for your enjoyment as well as a range of board games for rainy days.
Bedroom 1 has a double bed, and is fitted with an electric blanket during winter months for your warmth. Bedroom 2 is a twin bedded room. All linen is supplied and beds are made up prior to your arrival.
There is a bathroom equipped with shower, toilet and wash basin.
Outside
There is a small private enclosed garden with patio and table & chairs surrounded by flower borders and climbing plants. There is also a large area beyond the garden where children can run and play. There are donkey rides available for children and guests are free to collect freshly laid eggs from the chickens. Guests are free to explore the 45 acres at your leisure and there is an opportunity to view red kites, buzzards and the abundant rabbits that play near to the cottage. There is private parking at the front of the cottage for up to 3 cars.

A cot and High chair is supplied on request free of charge. A discount of 10% is available on bookings of 2 weeks or more. The cottage is suitable for the partially disabled as it is all on one level apart from a small step into the bathroom and the kitchen.

The cottage provides an ideal base to discover the superb coastline with it's many sandy beaches, rugged cliffs and tiny coves, with the Pembrokshire Coast National Park nearby offering magnificent scenery and many outstanding walks. The nearby cove of Cwmtydu is only 3.5 miles from the cottage, and the popular seaside town of Newquay is approx 5 miles away. The Georgian town of Aberaeron with its pretty harbour and shops is a 15 minute drive.

There is a wide range of activities and attractions nearby including Horse Riding, Fishing, Golf, Boat Trips, Craft shops and much much more all within a short driving distance from the cottage. The cliff top walks offer spectacular views of the cardigan bay coast. The cottage is only a short distance to safe sandy beaches and smugglers coves. There are several good pubs nearby offering tasty local food including lobster and crab caught locally. National Trust properties, castles and the new botanic garden of wales are all easily reached.

The cottage is surrounded by 45 acres of countryside which guests are free to roam in. We also offer free donkeys rides for children up to the age of 10 on our own donkeys.

Travel information
Take the A487 coastal road out of Aberaeron through the villages of Llwyncelyn, Llanarth, and Synod Inn. You will notice a small crossroads approximately 2 miles from Synod Inn signposted Cwmtydu and Llwyndafydd and a florist sign. Turn right here and continue 100 yards down the road. Ddol farm is the first turning on the right and a private driveway enters the farmyard.
