Sassnitz is a well-known resort town on the Jasmund peninsula, Rügen Island, in the Federal State of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany. It is a gateway to the nearby Jasmund National Park and home to Ruegen's only zoo. In the habour you find the decommissioned British submarine HMS Otus. It was purchased by a German entrepreneur and towed to Sassnitz to be a floating museum. The apartment is nearby the Jasmund National Park, a nature reserve in the northeast of Rügen island in Mecklenburg-Western, Pomerania, Germany. The largest chalk cliffs of Germany, the so called Königsstuhl (literally 'king's chair') and the forests behind the cliffsare are part of the national park. The cliffs are up to 160 m high above the Baltic Sea.
