The vacation rental

The cottage has recently been reburbished and opened as a Holiday Cottage on 22.12.07. It has two bedrooms, one with double bed and one with twin beds, extra bed if required, so can sleeps 4/5. It has a beautiful conservatory with superb views to the sea and open countryside. The cottage is set in half acre of ground in mature garden, excellent for sitting back and relaxing, or safe for children to play as gates and fence surround property. We also have a lockable shed for your cycles, walking gear, fishing, golf clubs etc. The local website for more information on the area, this will give you lots of information. All beds made up for arrival, heating and electricity, towels etc. all inc. Now been awarded 3 star by Visit Scotland.

The surrounding area

Glen Auchie cottage is situated in the most southernly spot in Scotland. It was the last thatched roof cottage before renovation. It still has many lovely features. The countryside is full of birds and wildlife, excellent for walking, cycling, fishing, sea fishing, horse riding, gardens to explore. You can even feed the fish at Logan Botanic Gardens. At the Mull of Galloway you can climb the lighthouse and from here on a clear day you can see England, Ireland and Isle of Man. This is a very popular spot now for weddings and receptions in the beautiful turfed roof restaurant called the Gallie Craig. There are lots of excellent eating places in the area. If you just want to get away sit back in the secluded garden and relax and enjoy.

The cottage dates back to 1850 and is a beautiful country cottage set in spectacular open countryside and views of the sea. Glen Auchie named because it is set in Auchie Glen. Sail on HSS Stena for the day or go on one of there many bus tours.
