Bad Ischl is less than an hour by car from Salzburg and the airport. Salzburg Airport is well served by the low cost airlines from the UK and other European countries including Ryanair and Thomsonfly.
Bad Ischl is a popular, year round, holiday destination, surrounded by the most stunning lakes and mountains. There is great walking, cycling and golf at the nearby Salzkammergut Golf Club. In winter there is excellent skiing in Bad Ischl and a short drive away at Dachstein West and Postalm
The town was the favourite residence of the Kaiser Franz Josef, he spent over 80 summers here. Bad Ischl still celebrates its regal past with the Lehar Operetta Festival and Kaiserfest each summer..Alternatively, just take time to relax in the clear mountain air and enjoy the scenery.
