The surrounding area
Domaine de Montsalvy is located midway between the famous Dordogne and Lot rivers in the region known as the Bouriane. The Bouriane itself is a gently rolling countryside of woods and small pasture fields, contrasting with the dramatic gorges of the Dordogne and Lot rivers.
You can visit the many historic towns including Sarlat, Domme, Cahors. Also experience the mediaeval pilgrimage town of Rocamadour, built literally hanging on to a cliff.
Enjoy fabulous canoeing on the Dordogne winding through breathtaking valleys. Be fascinated by the prehistoric limestone caves and sites with their underground waterways, cave paintings and tales of Neanderthal man.The local gastronomy is world-famous (foie gras, trüffes, cheeses, walnuts, wines...)
