The Guesthouse
The 4 do/rooms have a bathroom with cold and warm water (by solar), spring mattresses that are good for the back, night stand, reading lamp, shelf units, safe and a refrigerator, balcony/terrace,great pool in the tropical garden, joint used terrace with boiler, grill, sink and kitchen equipment. Use for a fee, washing machine use for a fee. The janitor is living on the property, cleaning and changing of clothes are included in the price. The house is situated at the quiet outskirts of the town of Cumbuco, to the inner city it is only about 15 minutes by foot.
Cumbuco is a small fishing village with approx. 1000 citizens.

Special features
A refrigerator is in the room. The dining area is situated once at every level and downstairs at the large, roofed terrace, where the cooking place and the grill are also located. In Brazil one likes to go out for a low priced dinner, once can always expect big servings. One likes lying in the shade and relaxing in the hammock or in seats, everything is variably usable at different places, divan beds will be acquired. Mosquito nets are also available. The janitor is lives at the location and is likely to help you with organising taxi rides or shopping, as well as laundry (for a fee). The guest house was built adjusting to the wind, therefore we do not need air conditioning, wind can be let in, or closed out, through windows and doors.

That attracts people from metropolises, who have weekend houses there or just go out for dinner and enjoy the freedom at the beach during a day trip, because of the town’s tropical flair and friendly atmosphere. Cumbuco is new land to tourism, one can find a lot of nativeness by the habitants’ openness to foreigners! Despite language problems, Portuguese is spoken, we could always make friends and inspire our variety of ideas anew by pantomiming. Due to the constant wind also in winter surfer and kite surfer from all over the world are gravitated. All over the year the temperature are between 28° until 31°, the water has a temperature between 25° and 28°. Thus, more and more people spend their holiday also in winter in Europe.

Es war für mich die Vorstufe zum Paradies!

by L. Knappmann from HamburgDas Haus, in den Wind gebaut braucht keine lästige Klimaanlage, was mir sehr gut tat. Die Hausmeister wohnen auf dem Grundstück und sind gefühlvolle gute Geister, die nie lästig sind und mit Fleiß Garten und Haus, die Zimmer und die Küche und Wäsche versorgen. Die Abholung am Flughafen klappte bestens, nicht vergessen, nun bin ich in Süd-Amerika. Habe immer bestens geschlafen und nette Langzeiturlauber am Haus kennen gelernt. Das Frühstück gemeinsam auf der Terrasse eingenommen war mit den vielen frischen Früchten und dem frisch gepressten Orangensaft tropisch und reichhaltig, da ich mir noch ein Ei braten o.a. machen lassen konnte mit Käse und Schinken, so konnte jeder Tag beginnen! Vorher war ich aber jeden Morgen schon 1 Std. in dem Traum-Pool, wo ich Wassergymnastik machte und meine Runden schwamm. Die Menschen im Dorf sind arm aber herzlich, freundlich und ich bekam auch Kontakte auf dem Fisch Markt, wo man mir die Fische beschrieb und mir empfahl wie sie zubereitet werden können. Ich wurde mit dem Mietwagen der anderen Gäste mitgenommen und ich genoss es nicht alleine vor Ort zu sein. Die freie Küchennutzung haben wir etliche Male genutzt und ließen uns für kleines Geld von Franziska, der Hausmeisterfrau die Fische grillen oder die Scampis braten. Ich genoss die Std. am Meer und Strand, obwohl ich durch meine Arthrose nicht mehr so gut abrollen kann, aber der Sand war bei Ebbe sehr gut zu begehen. Dank 50ger Sonnenschutz kam ich wie ein Negerlein gebräunt und erholt heim und mein Enkel übernimmt nun die Schreiberei, da ich mit meinen nun 90 Jahren keinen PC habe. Ich lebe viel in der Erinnerung an den Frühling 2009 und kann es auch jedem älteren Menschen empfehlen dorthin zu reisen!!! Luzie Knappmann
