La Rocca Spagnola, 1557, was built during the Spanish occupation of Tuscany and sits magnificently over the picturesque Marina of Porto Ercole.La Rocca is the perfect place for a quiet and peaceful retreat. The fortress sits within easy walking distance to a rocky beach and the working Marina of Porto Ercole. A number of restaurants offer the opportunity to sample Tuscan cooking (and wine!) as well as numerous bars (cappuccino etc.!) as well as fish-markets, boutiques and grocery shops. Wonderful off-season too with beautiful, wild walks and ideally situated to explore the Tuscan Maremma and archipelago as well as easy access to Rome, Saturnia, Pisa, Florence etc.
