cosy beamed house
 |
The vacation rental
This cosy historical beamed house "Balkenhäuschen" has been defying the north German elements for over 2 centuries and is located only a few paces away from the last tower standing today in what once constituted the mighty city wall of Lübeck, known as the “Queen of the Hanse”. The flair of a long-bygone age still inhabits this fully listed and unique house in the old part of the city of Lübeck, unostentatiously furnished to the highest standards of modern comfort. Set in the heart of the St. Annenkloster district of the historic island forming the old part of the city of Lübeck, the original small room division will enable you to experience life in old Lübeck even when your sightseeing is over for the day. The owner has created a completely personal atmosphere, comprising 3 rooms and a dining hall all linked via the historic staircase! |

Lübeck: water washing around the historic city walls

The surrounding area
The unique Krähenteich open-air swimming pool, set in the old part of the city of Lübeck and featuring a grassed sunbathing area, is a real attraction in summer and is located diagonally opposite on your left when you cross the idyllic service road full of historical buildings. A few steps further, diagonally opposite on your right in Mühlenstrasse, is the modern "Stadthalle", which is the main venue for the Nordic Film Festival and ideal for rainy days. The historic beamed house is surrounded by art and culture, cosy cafés and restaurants and individual small shops in an area where areas of water constantly flash between the trees and is the ideal starting point to explore Lübeck, now considered the cultural and Christmas capital of the North, on foot. If you wake up to find the fridge empty, the Hotel zur Alten Stadtmauer directly opposite provides an excellent breakfast.
