The vacation rental
Our holiday apartment is situated in Weiterndorf, a small area in Heilsbronn (2 km) – thus handy for traffic on the B 14 between Ansbach and Nuremberg, only 4 km distance from the A6, and can also easily be reached by train (Heilsbronn train station). The 60sq.m. granny flat is suitable for 4 people (an additional bed can be provided for a fifth person during short stays) and has two large rooms with a kitchen and bathroom as well its own terrace with garden furniture. At peaceful and sunny location, it has a wonderful view over the bottom of the valley and nearby Heilsbronn. Due to its hillside location, the apartment is pleasantly cool during the summer. Out of consideration for other guests, we ask that you only smoke on the terrace. In principle, pets are allowed on request. |

The surrounding area
Heilsbronn itself offers the charm of a small, tranquil town located in the centre of Franconia. With the 870-year-old Münster it has one of the few Roman churches in southern Germany that survived the Second World War without being damaged. The largest Hohenzollern burial place in southern Germany is located in the Münster.
Idyllic scenery awaits you in the area surrounding Heilsbronn, as do medieval towns and cities with wonderful half-timbered houses, romantic lodges, baroque castles and many cultural sights, as well as culinary treats!
Take off from the apartment for a wonderful walk through the forest or stroll through the pedestrian zone in Nuremberg shortly after your arrival.

Activities
You can discover the surrounding area via its numerous cycle and rambling paths before relaxing in a cosy beer garden.
The Franconian lake scenery, which includes the Altmühl Lake and the small and large Brombach Lakes, is only a stone’s throw away. With the exception of the nature reserves, the lakes are freely accessible and offer numerous opportunities related to cycling, rambling, bathing, sailing and boating.
Popular destinations include the Bavarian Jagdfalkenhof [zoo] in Schillingsfürst, the old Reich town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber, the Franconian Open Air Museum in Bad Windsheim and the Markgrafenschloß castle in Ansbach.
The children will be delighted with a visit to the leisure time park in Geiselwind, Thurn Castle, the Schwabenpark and the PLAYMOBILFun Park, as well as to the Nuremberg Zoo and the open air swimming pool in Heilsbronn with its huge slide. One wonderful attraction – not just for children – is the newly laid out high wire garden in Enderndorf, on the banks of Igelsbach Lake (Franconian lakeland). It has been integrated into an old, thick stand of trees. You do not climb on an artificially laid out course, but from tree to tree.

From the A6 motorway > Neuendettelsau exit > Heilsbronn direction > where the area begins, along the B14 in the direction of Nuremberg > out at next exit (Heilsbronn East) > still in the exit, right to Weiterndorf > where the area begins, right and down at small junction > 3rd cul-de-sac on the right > you drive right up to our house (on the front side of Wendeplatz)
From the B 14 > take the Heilsbronn East exit
- Coming from Ansbach (2nd Heilsbronn exit): still in exit, right > see above.
- Coming from Nuremberg (1st Heilsbronn exit): at the end of the exit on the left > under bridge
and through > along right bend immediately turn left towards Weiterndorf > see above.
