The vacation rental
Domaine Lavalette is set amongst 80 ha. of forest and meadows on a small hill. A private avenue leads for about 1 ˝ kilometres through oak and beech forests up to the buildings of the stately home, which date from the 16th century. The atmosphere of the houses is characterised by exposed brickwork, wooden beamed ceilings, terracotta floors and antiques, all combined with the highest level of modern comfort in the bathroom and kitchen areas.
The TRECA beds have German measurements. Bed linen and towels are provided and changed regularly. The houses are cleaned twice a week. Services also include a billiards room, a heated pool, the estate’s own horses available for the free use of our guests, carriage drives with the lord of the manor.
The estate also has a herd of organic Galloway cattle. |

The surrounding area
Domaine Lavalette lies at the heart of the Périgord Pourpre region, between Sarlat, Perigueux and Bergerac. 53% of the area of the Perigord is made up of forest. Culinary specialities include foie gras, truffles, nuts and wonderful wines. The 1001 castles and fortresses on the banks of the Dordogne and the Vezere, the medieval bastides and the prehistoric grottos are ideal places to visit. The local farmers’ markets offering their local produce are another thing not to be missed. For sporty visitors, there are hikes or canoe trips along the Dordogne. Whatever your interests, Perigord is always worth a visit.

The estate offers: swimming in a heated pool, riding on the estate’s own horses, carriage drives with one or two teams of horses and the lord of the manor, own angling facilities, billiards room with library, darts, own hunting, mountain bikes, hiking, mushroom picking in the forests of the estate depending on the season.
