The vacation rental
The Maisonette is on two floors, the top floor has a very large open plan livingroom with a balcony facing the Grand Harbour and a large fully equipped kitchen and wash room. Downstairs there are two bedrooms, the master bedroom has a king size bed and an en suite bathroom with toilet and shower, and the other bedroom has two single beds. There is an additional larger bathroom equipped with a sink, toilet, large bath and a bidet. |

The surrounding area
Birgu (Vittoriosa) is a peninsula that juts out into the Grand Harbour and boasts a proud and colourful history from the Phoenician times to the Normans, to the Knights of St John who fought the first great siege of Malta against the Turks here in 1565. The more recent British occupation of Malta also significantly transformed Brigu and the surrounding areas culminating in the second great siege of Malta fought against Hitler's Luftwaffe in WWII. The city is built on history and when wandering through the old streets among the palaces, churches, auberges and docks or gazing out at the Grand Harbour one may sense what took place there. In the little village there is a bakery and little shops that are reminiscent of old Birgu.

Activities
The area is quiet and relaxing with much historic interest. There is a resturant and two cafes in Birgu. There are water taxis available for harbour cruises and transport to the capital Valletta. Sporting activities are available in neighboring areas.
