The surrounding area
Skradin, the headquarters of Krka National Park, is one of the oldest Croatian settlements with the status of a town (2nd c. BC). Situated not far from the world phenomenon Skradinski Buk, where the Krka river flows with tranquillity, it represents the centre of life from the early ancient times. The contemporary, organized tourism started to develop only in the 1960s. The well-maintained public beach, good-quality accommodation, famous specialities (risotto, seafood) and wines (Debit, Plavina), a model mari-cultural farm and the marina make Skradin a destination of many tourists, particularly nature enthusiasts and lovers of natural phenomena.
