Quinta Mãe dos Homens Garden Village in an exclusive private estate perched above the city centre of Funchal.

Although it is only a short distance from the centre of Funchal, you will have entered a very private sanctuary that is rarely disturbed by the bustle of the city below.

The Studio is extremely spacious with double or twin beds and a generous lounge area. It is equipped with a separate bathroom and corridor kitchenette (including microwave oven) and sleeps until 3 persons (with use of sofa bed).

It has direct telephone line and cable television installed as well as safe boxes. Bathroom includes bath, shower and WC. Hair dryers are fitted in each bathroom.

Centrally located is the solar heated swimming pool, surrounded by a terrace with umbrellas and sunbeds. Beside the pool there is an honesty bar designed to keep you refreshed whilst whiling away those sunny days.

Location and surroundings

The Aparthotel is situated in a residencial area above the old town of Funchal.

In the old town of Funchal, you will find many restaurants which are in walking distance of aprox 10-15 mins down hill and a mini market close by.

Public transport is very accessible as the bus stops immediately outside the Quinta.

Arrival

00.00 km Departing from the Airport, take the “Via Rápida” (dual carriageway) through several set of tunnels following the sign post pointing Funchal ER101.

13.30 km Start seeing the beautiful view of the bay from Funchal.

14.30 km Leave the Motorway to your right at exit 13 at the indication to Funchal Boa Nova, Palheiro Golf. At the junction turn left, and keep straight on the ER204 road on the direction to Funchal.

14.90 km Pass under a small bridge, following signs to Funchal – Boa Nova, drive straight ahead. Pass a church on your right hand and some meters further the entrance to the “Jardim Botânico” (Botanical Garden) also on your right side, keep straight on the main road.

16.20 km After passing a row of shops on the right, you will see a Pink House, on your right, with a Palm Tree which seems to grow from its roof, follow the road to the right (sharp bend) and just out of the bend take immediate left down, where you will see a ‘3.5t’ warning sign, into Rua da Rochinha.

16.30 km Keep on this road and turn left on the second entrance to Travessa Manuel Alexandre, a small street, in between two high walls, a school on the left and Quinta Mãe dos Homens on the right. Half way along this road you will see a large green gate on your right, ring the bell on the left side of the gate.

You have just arrived at “Quinta Mãe dos Homens”.
