The vacation rental
Mataross was one of the old farmhouses which are scattered all over the slopes at a few 100 mt. above lake-level. It overlooks lake Como and the mountains. The local rural population, not even so long ago, brought their animals like sheep and goats up the mountains for summer grazing. The small house " Mataross" where the farmer stayed for the summer to watch over the animals, has now been transformed in a lovely little cottage. It has completely been renovated up to modern standards. Surrounded by a 3000 m2 terraced garden, barbecue area, fenched property, parking inside . A pleasant terrace for outside dining, living room with open kitchen, two double bedrooms, 2 showerrooms, lots of windows with panoramic views!

The surrounding area
Pianello del Lario between Dongo 3km and Menaggio 10 km. has a sandy beach, pleasure harbour, sailing and surf school, a few restaurants, small supermarket. For extensive shopping or " nightlife" you depend on Dongo or Menaggio.
The cottage is hidden in the woods, at 2.4 km from Pianello, 10 minutes by car or 20 minutes' walk.
Chalet Mataross is a place for a quiet holiday, with splendid sun sets, wonderful views, excellent for walkers and hikers, lots of paths take you up to the meadows and higher tops and for those who like a swim in the lake . Como at 40 km, Milan at 80 km, Lugano at 40 km, are all good for a pleasant day-trip, so is St.Moritz the beautiful mountain resort in the swiss alps.
