The surrounding area
The dreamy, yet dramatic landscape around the lakes Klopeiner See and Turnersee makes the region one of the most beautiful areas in Carinthia and throughout Austria.
In saying so, we are not indulging in self-praise, we are merely passing on the notions expressed by many visitors.
Embedded in the green of undulating hills, forests and meadows, the Klopeiner See and the Turnersee are like two blue gemstones, framed by the bizarre chalk cliffs of an alpine mountain chain, the Karawanken.
Holiday makers enjoy the cleanest of water -water in both lakes is of drinking quality. Reaching temperatures of up to 28 degrees Celsius, the Klopeiner See is also the warmest swimming lake in Europe.
