The Holiday House
Fernbrook Cottage, only 12 minutes from the town of Kerikeri, is located near the beach on our 27ha property overlooking the Kerikeri Inlet, part of the greater Bay of Islands.
The house has two double bedrooms (one king, one queen bed) each with its own bathroom. There is a fully equipped kitchen and laundry, dining/sitting room, TV room and extensive outdoor deck with views of the bay.
The property is set aside as a protected habitat for the North Island brown Kiwi a rare, nocturnal New Zealand bird which can be heard calling at night and occasionally seen. Relax and enjoy the tranquility of this very special place with its secluded beach, bush walks, stream and waterfall.
Special features
Because we have undertaken to protect the Kiwi in the area we cannot allow dogs on the property. We arrange evening Kiwi viewing tours for our guests to enable them to see this rare endangered bird.

Fernbrook is located on the Kerikeri Inlet, one of many delightful areas of the greater Bay of Islands, an extensive waterway on the North East coast of New Zealand.
The region has a subtropical climate with summer temperatures ranging between 24 and 30deg. Centigrade.
The Bay of Islands was settled early in New Zealand's history and therefore has many interesting historic sites with a blend of Maori and European cultures.
The recreational activities are largely related to its coastal location and include swimming, fishing, canoeing, sailing, dolphin watching and just exploring the extensive coastline in the area.
Fernbrook is only a short distance from three outstanding golf courses, including the world class Kauri Cliffs.
