Situated by the shores of Loch Awe amidst some of the finest scenery in the West Highlands of Scotland, Blarghour offers the discerning visitor a choice of high quality accommodation (sleeping 2 - 6 persons), carefully managed in situations of great beauty, which afford peace, privacy and seclusion while being centrally situated for touring Argyll and beyond.
Barn - sleeps 2 in comfortable accommodation with living area upstairs and bedroom downstairs.
Stable - sleeps 4 in two bedrooms and enjoys a wonderful view of Loch Awe.
Barr-beithe lower - sleeps 5 in three bedrooms and looks across Loch Awe from sunroom and patio. Disabled access.

The surrounding area
Blarghour is a hill farm of 2,000 acres on which unrestricted walking may be enjoyed. The surrounding countryside provides river fishing, climbing and hill-walking. Within easy reach during a days motoring are: Glencoe and Fort William (Ben Nevis), Loch Lomond, Loch Tay, the Trossachs, Dunoon and Loch Eck, Easdale and Oban with its whiskey distillery and ferry access to the Isles of Mull and Iona. The islands of Islay, Gigha and Arran are also lovely, while more locally one may visit Inveraray Castle and Jail, and pre-historic Kilmartin Valley. Crinan Canal and a trip to the Corrievreckan Whirlpool are recommended.

Activities
Loch Awe is a good fishing loch and the surrounding countryside provides river fishing, climbing and hill walking in wonderful scenery. Golf may be played at Dalmally. There are swimming pools at Inveraray and Oban and when the weather is warm one may swim in Loch Awe.

Beautifully situated, mid-way along the south-east shore of lovely Loch Awe, on the B840, Blarghour is 2 hours from Glasgow Airport and 3 hours from Edinburgh Airport and Rosyth Ferry Port. |
