The Holiday Apartment
Fernbrook apartment is on a 27ha property situated on the Kerikeri Inlet, part of the waterway of the greater Bay of Islands in Northern New Zealand. The Property is set aside as a protected habitat for the North Island brown Kiwi, a flightless New Zealand bird whose numbers are now seriously threatened.
Guests can enjoy the secluded beach, bush walks, stream, waterfall and outstanding views of the bay. We also arrange evening Kiwi viewing tours so that guests can see this unique bird in its natural habitat.
The apartment provides a relaxing atmosphere, excellent facilities and is serviced daily. The makings of continental breakfast are supplied each day. Fernbrook is within easy reach of shops, restaurants, art galleries and golf courses.
Special features
Fernbrook's special feature is the protection of the nesting place of the North Island brown Kiwi. A special trapping programme ensures that all predators are trapped to provide them with a safe environment.

Fernbrook is located on the Kerikeri Inlet, part of the greater Bay of Islands, a large waterway on Northland's east coast. The property is ideally suited to birdwatching and nature walks.
There is easy access to historic sites, sailing on the Bay, fishing, dolphin watching and horse riding. Fernbrook is within easy reach of three outstanding golf courses, Kerikeri, Waitangi and Kauri Cliffs; driving time, 12 to 25 minutes. We can arrange tours and activites for guests as part of our service.
