The Holiday House
Pirate Yalfo built his confortable island home only 200 m from the northwest coast facing the Atlantic. The garden estate comprising 500 m2 is surrounded by walls and hidden from sight allowing his guests or himself to dig prey or to enjoy undisturbed nudist sunbathing. The quaint house itself offers each pirate looking for peace a comfortable living room with fireplace, library, satellit TV,a fully equipped kitchen, 3 bedroom and an authentic wooden panelled attic ("Le Refuge du Pirate") with an additinal doubelbed. The pirate's skin linde by salt water can recover in 2 bathings rooms (+2 WCs). From the glassed-in veranda or the sunny or shady terraces of the estate the first officer can be watched preparing a barbecue...
Heating during cooler days is by electric radiators and logs in the fireplace ( inserted).

Location and surroundings
The pirate's nest ist situated in the largest French Atlantic island in the dunes covered by pin trees invintig directly from the entrance to go for a walk ( with or without dog) to central baker' or pirate'pub selling magasins and newspapers.
The endlees beaches in a distance of 200 m invite for swimming, fishing, collecting of shells or walking at the tides for example to the lighthouse of Chassiron at the northend of the island.
Looking into a guide will be sufficient for the experienced pirate to explore the popular sights of theisland (fortifications,"lantern of the dead", conservation areas, oyster beds, little port of La Cotinière, boat trips directed to Fort Boyard or Isle of Aix, etc.) for looting. Also looting trips to the continent crossing the impressing island bridge (3km) to La Rochelle, Cognac, Royan, Rochefort or the Roman town of Saintes are recommendable.

Ahoiiiiii !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by Bernhard Böhm from 69469 WeinheimNachdem wir auf den Landstrassen mitten durch Frankreich angereist waren erwartete uns das erste Abenteuer: finde das Logis du Pirate! Das Foto aus dem Internet hatten wir ja dabei, die Adresse auch... Dann aber ,in der anbrechenden Dämmerung suchten wir das grüne Tor und das dazu gehörende Haus.... Und wir fanden dank der Spürnase meines Bruders das Anwesen. Besser schöner und größer als wir gedacht hatten. Das Haus ist wirklich sehr komfortabel und doch zweck -dienlich. Die Abende am offenen Kamin auf dem man sogar grillen kann genossen wir sehr. Genau so wie die zentrale Lage. Man ist - mit dem Fahrrad- in einer halben Stunde bequem an den Muschel übersäten Stränden zwischen Boyardville und St.George, aber auch nach St.Pierre zum einkaufen. Natürlich haben wir die örtlichen Märkte genossen wo man frisches Gemüse der Region, Wein und Fisch bekommt.Ganz zu schweigen von den Austern und Muscheln !!!
Ganz besonderen Dank hier auch an Yalfo der uns mit guten Ideen für verschiedene Inselabenteuer versorgte. Der Abschied fiel uns nicht schwer denn es ist ja gar nicht so weit zum Logis du Pirate und wir werden gerne wiederkommen.
Es war einer meiner schönsten Urlaube überhaupt !!!

Traumurlaub

by Anja Ingenbrand from Bingen am RheinNachdem wir bereits zum 10. mal auf der Ile D`Oleron waren, haben wir endlich unser Traumdomizil gefunden. Wir haben unseren Urlaub vom 21.06.2008 bis zum 05.07.2008 im Logis Du Pirate verbracht und waren mehr als begeistert. Das Haus ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und hat ein tolles Ambiente. Es fehlt an nichts. Hier fühlt man sich einfach sehr wohl und kann sich prima erholen. Der Strand ist nicht weit, direkt gegenüber gehts in den Pinienwald und ganz schnell ist man auch im Ort beim Bäcker oder auf dem Markt. Fazit: Sehr empfehlenswert !!! Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.... Grüße aus Bingen am Rhein...Familie Ingenbrand

Le Logis du Pirat auf Oleron

by Gutierrez from AranjuezNach 5 Herbst-Traumferien in dem romantischen Bauernhaus in der Süd-Vendée "Le Refuge Mélusine" mit seinem Feenzimmer und dem dazugehörigen Roman haben wir nun 2008 das 2. französische Refugium des Essener Romanisten kennengelernt. Wenn auch beide Häuser von Charakter und Umgebung sehr unterschiedlich sind, so wird in beiden Rückzugsorten, die Liebe zum Detail und zum Besonderen deutlich. Gerade in der Vorsaison, wo Oleron noch ein Paradies ist, lässt es sich auch im Logis leben wie "Gott in Frankreich"
