The Holiday house

The house (100 square-meters) is located on the hill 5 minutes from village centre and beach. The ground floor has kitchen, dining and sitting room. It accommodates 6 persons in 3 bed-rooms upstairs. The whole house has been recently entirely renovated.

The garden, 500 square-meters, overlooks the sea. A parking lot housing two cars is available in the property.

Location and surroundings

Yport, a small fishermen village until the 1950's has transformed into a resort in the past decades while retaining its original quietness. It is 6 kilometers from Fecamp which harbored in the past a fleet of fishing boats specialised in cod fishing in Newfoundland .

It is now a sailing port with a full range of watersport and shopping facilities. Also nearby are the famous cliffs of Etretat, Varangeville and Dieppe. Rouen and Le Havre, 2 major cities and harbors, are also within easy reach. Both are historic cities with many sites of interest and museums.

The Normandy bridge over the Seine river also provides an easy access to Southern Normandy with such remarkables places of interest such as Honfleur, Deauville and Caen

Roland and Monique are now retired and live both in Yport and Paris. They have two sons and a grand daughter. Monique was a geography and history teacher.
Roland acted as communication manager for various public bodies and private companies.

   We stayed one week at the end of May (with two pre-teen children) and had very good weather. The house is elevated on the side of a hill and has a great view of the town and ocean. The ocean is a short walk down the street, and there is plenty of hiking on the cliffs. The house is very clean and well maintained. Mr. and Mrs. Bourgeois met us upon arrival and showed terrific hospitality.
   If we come that way again we will surly stay there. I found the price to be very reasonable, especially for the location near the ocean! Thank you very much for the terrific stay!

   Wir haben uns die zwei Wochen in Ihrem Haus sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Wetter war prima und die Möglichkeiten, Ausflüge in der nähere Umgebung durchzuführen sind sehr gut. Da es uns und unseren Kindern so gut gefallen hat, werden wir 2013 gerne wieder kommen.
   
   Wünschenswert wäre ein größeres Badezimmer. Ein Zimmer ist ein Durchgangszimmer, dies sollte erwähnt werden. Es handelt sich um eine schönes altes Haus direkt am Meer gelegen und etwas Feuchtigkeit ist durchaus normal.

   Gleich zu Beginn der NRW-Sommerferien im Juli 2012 haben wir im Haus der Familie Bourgeois einen sehr entspannten Urlaub verbracht.
   
   Die Kommunikation mit den netten Eigentümern war bereits im Vorfeld verlässlich und höflich. Das Haus hat uns dann gleich bei Ankunft positiv überrascht. Es ist nicht nur sehr liebevoll eingerichtet, z.B. was Lampen und Bilder betrifft, sondern bietet auch mit Wasch- und Spülmaschine sowie WLAN den Komfort, den man von zu hause gewohnt ist.
   
   Ganz besonders hat meiner Frau das Schlafzimmer mit den sichtbaren Holzbalken gefallen: toller Blick über das Dorf.
   
   Schöne Wanderwege direkt vom Haus weg bzw. vom Dorf aus (kleines Gässchen neben einer Arztpraxis ca. 70 m vom Strand) haben uns nach Fécamp, Vaucottes und durch die nahen Wäldchen geführt. Bis bald ...

   It’s always very nice to hear that guests have enjoyed their holidays in a house which we also like and take much care of, trying to improve year after year (as a famous car rental company used to say : “We try harder !)

   Das gemütliche Haus mit phantastischer Sicht zum Meer eignet sich hervorragend für einen Familienurlaub -auch mit kleineren Kindern oder aber für sehr befreundete Paare. Wissen muss man: 1 Schlafzimmer ist Durchgangszimmer.
   
   Sowohl das Haus als auch der Garten sind sehr gepflegt. Im Juni standen die Rosen und die Pfingstrosen in voller Blüte; die Pracht der Hortensien konnten wir bereits erahnen. Die Vermieter Monique und Roland sind sehr positiv denkende, empathische, warmherzige Menschen. Wir würden das Haus immer wieder buchen.

   Wir haben einen sehr schönen Urlaub in dem sauberen und gut ausgestattetem Haus verbracht. Die ruhige Lage mit Meerblick ist phantastisch. Die Vermieter sprechen sehr gut Englisch und sind sehr freundlich. Das empfohlene Restaurant Le Nautice war ein ausgezeichneter Tipp.
