   Urlaub bei Maria und Michalis ist Erholung pur. Im Horiatiko Spiti erleben sie Kreta mit allem was sie sich erhoffen können. Sehr herzliche Gastgeber, die immer und bei jedem Problem für sie da sind, mit denen man aber auch einfach in aller Ruhe nach einem Strandtag im Hof ein Gläschen Wein oder Raki trinkt und vieles erfährt über die Insel, das Leben und die Freuden und Sorgen der Kreter.
   Seit Jahren komme ich immer wieder. Die Apartments sind super ausgestattet, sehr sauber, der Innenhof ist ein Traum mit Blumen, Kräutern und Orangen und Zitronenbäumen und die Aussicht aus den oberen Apartments auf die Messara und die Berge werden sie nie wieder vergessen. Ich habe hier schon im Frühjahr und jetzt im Juni, aber auch schon im November Urlaub gemacht und war immer begeistert.
   Wenn sie noch ein Stückchen echtes Kreta erleben wollen, kommen sie zu Maria und Michalis und nach Sivas; denn auch das Dorf ist einfach zum Verlieben, eine tolle Plateia mit Restaurants, einem Supermarket und einem sehr individuellen Töpferladen, zwei Kafenions, echte kretische Atmosphäre. Viele Leute aus Matala oder Pitsidia kommen hier abends her, weil man hier gut ißt.
   Ich kann das Horiatiko Spiti nur allen Leuten empfehlen, die einen entspannten und angenehmen Urlaub mit echter Herzlichkeit erleben wollen.

   If you want an authentic holiday experience, look no further than Horiatiko Spiti. This is an utterly charming establishment with quality facilities and the kindest, friendliest management. You are put right in the middle of an original Cretan village, far removed from a typical tourist spot. The surroundings are beautiful, and the beaches are divine! There are many small taverns and shops which are absolutely delightful to visit during the day, and the food is fantastic. Overall, this is a wonderful place that must be visited!

   Seit Jahren komme ich nun hier her. Das liebevoll restaurierte Elternhaus von Maria dient nun als Gästehaus mit insgesamt fünf Appartments in unterschiedlichen Größen, alle mit eigener Terrasse mit fantastischer Aussicht. Maria und Michaelis sind sehr herzliche Gastgeber. Dies war bestimmt nicht mein letzter Besuch!

   Es ist nun schon das vierte Jahr, dass ich hier meine Ferien verbringe. Warum ich immer wieder zu Maria und Michalis komme hat einen einfachen Grund: Sobald ich im Horiatiko
   Spiti angekommen bin habe ich sofort Urlaub. Es ist als komme man zu seiner eigenen Familie. Nicht lang eingewöhnen, sich orientieren oder umsehen. Einfach nur ankommen. Urlaub! Der Empfang ist immer sehr herzlich und die Appartments , sowie die Umgebung einfach nur traumhaft. Wenn man sich einfach nur erholen will und nicht auf Remmidemmi steht ist das hier der ideale Ort. Maria und Michalis haben immer ein offenes Ohr und stehen mit Rat und Tat zur Seite falls es nötig sein sollte. Die Appartments sind sehr schön und vor Allem sehr sauber, was ich unheimlich wichtig finde. Horiatiko Spiti liegt etwas höher im Dorf , so dass man einen tollen Ausblick auf die Umgebung hat. Wenn man wirklich die Erholung in einem ansprechenden Ambiente sucht ist man bei Maria und Michalis bestens aufgehoben. Ich zumindest habe schon wieder für den Herbst gebucht. Wo wohl?

5. Great Guesthouse!

   This is a really special place to spend your holidays in. The house is lovely; a renovated, traditional Cretan house with 5 very comfortable and clean apartments. There is also a wonderful garden with flowers and trees. Horiatiko Spiti is situated quite close to the nearby beaches and the village itself is beautiful with three restaurants serving traditional Cretan cuisine, a pottery and a mini-market. The hosts are very friendly and have an in-depth knowledge of the surrounding area; they are always there to give advice on the best places to visit. Highly recommended.
