One enters the Felsenkeller directly from the hotel !
The year-round temperature in the Felsenkeller lies between 8-10 °C, with a relative humidity of 99% — near the degree of saturation!
Suspended matter and allergens, which are omnipresent in the outside air, will be bound and precipitated on the moist rock walls.
The warmer the air is, the more water vapour it can absorb.
Although the air in the Felsenkeller is (relatively) almost completely saturated with water vapour, when seen in absolute terms, very little water is contained in the air due to the relatively low temperature.
If this air now warms up during inhalation to 37° C body temperature, the respiratory air – in order to be saturated – can still absorb a great deal of water.
This water will now be extracted from the mucous membranes during the passage of air through the supplying respiratory tracts.
As a result, swellings subside while the bronchi can recover and strengthen their resistance.
In the Felsenkeller you will find the very purest respiratory air — and YOU can breathe “more freely” again!!!

The surrounding area
Basic information
Scientific studies and practical experience prove that the enrichment of the air with negative ions brings about a substantial increase of the powers of concentration, vigour and joie de vivre.
The increased concentration of negative atmospheric ions in the circulating air of the Felsenkeller (”Rock Cellar”) stimulates not only the immune system, but can substantially alleviate the maladies of allergy sufferers.
As early as the late 1950’s, the former “Wirt vom Eggerkeller” put the house guests suffering from asthma, whooping cough and hay fever in the “Felsenkeller” so that they could take ameliorating “air baths”.
Later, the “Egger Felsenkeller” was preferably utilised to tap the ever so popular beer from barrels, because the beer was naturally cooled.
